It was a lazy morning! I decided to make hashbrowns from scratch – they always take so long, but so good! I had 1 egg, 1 slice of well done bacon and 3.5 ounces of hashbrowns. I only used about 1/2 teaspoon of oil and the rest was Pam.
Then Tony brought me a piece of his breakfast – his eggs are always so good. it was delish!
My step-son LOVES churros, and when I saw this in the Dollar Store yesterday, of all places, I knew I had to get it. The directions were kind of messed up, or didn’t translate well. it said to mix with 1 cup of boiling water, but how much of the flour mixture? My first try was mostly flour, and I kept adding hot water until it looked like dough – so maybe a total of 2 cups for the whole box?
Hannah got to using the pastry bag:
I like Hannah’s stacking method! They turned out really good.
I did clean the bathroom from top to bottom, and swept the kitchen floor. I decided to wait until tonight to mop it and am glad I decided to wait – the frying part got a bit messy!
Off to try my Reuben egg rolls!
Very pretty! I found a cheating churro recipe I make using the reduced fat can of crescents – you roll them out into strips and twist two together and then coat in butter and a cinnamon/sugar mixture and bake. Definitely not AS good as fried originals, but a nice healthier alternative.
Sometimes the dollar store had the most amazing finds!!! I’ve even gotten produce there (though only eaten after a thorough washing) and kashi products- score!
The eggs look delish; and the churros look just like those link’n’logs 😉
have a great sunday!
Whoa – that is just too cool! And for only $2 for the box? It looks like so much fun making churros!
