I love chorizo and I love that its put on a bed of mixed greens – the husband loves a runny egg too! 😀
You know Tony is feeling better when he asks if he can make ME breakfast! I never say no to that. He made me a potato, red pepper and pancetta frittata with some toast on the side. He spiced it up with some chili oil – this was delicious! Thanks honey – no one makes eggs as good as you! My guess is this plate is about 10 points (I ate 3/4 of it).
My SIL Jody came over to be my shopping partner in crime. Here are Tony and Jody – Jody is holding the wound vac!
Our first stop was Williams-Sonoma. Usually when I have a gift card I end up buying lots of little things to feel like I got more bang for my buck. Not this time! I only bought three things and my total came to $85!
First up: a REALLY REALLY ($30) nice muffin tin.
Even without any Pam, they muffins came out perfectly:
Then I found these on the discount rack – aren’t they cute? Mini cast iron enameled pots. Check out the original price! I am thinking of making individual casseroles with these – maybe even make mini breakfast quiches in them?
Lastly, I got these wire skewers – a set of four for $20. No matter how long I soak wooden skewers, they always seem to burn. 🙁
Then we went to Moe’s Southwest Grill for lunch:
I got the chicken rice bowl – I did the nutritional calculator on their website – it said 13 points for the whole thing. I ate about 2/3 of this and with some chips, I am calling lunch 10 points.
Okay, I am going to wrap this post up – its so long! I ended up making this beef stew again for dinner last night – just as good as the first time around. When I reached into my bag of potatoes, these were the first three that I pulled out:
I don’t even want to tell you what Tony said after seeing these! 😀
BSI THIS WEEK: BEEF! It’s what’s for dinner.
Loved all the BSI Potato entries! Looking forward to this week!
Some really cool potato dishes here! Love your new look Biz! Tony looks great in the picture, nice color ans so cheerful, good to see he is getting stronger!! Cute little casserole pots- you are a great shopper!
Here is my beef entry: Crockpot Beef Pot Roast with Mushrooms. It is the beef I made with the potato entry from last week.

Ooo, love the W-S buys! I’m not allowed in that store–I know how much money I’ll end up spending! But those muffin tins sound so nice…
OK, I’m freaking out right now! Biz, every time you offer your salsa as a prize I’m crossing my fingers that I win b/c I have wanted to try it for sooo so long. I’m so happy I won, thank you! Hey, you know I just realized it will be hard for you to offer a weekly prize. Maybe you could ask for volunteers to help with prizes. Whether you do or not, I’d be happy to send a a homemade sweet treat to this week’s winner.
Love all your WS purchases! I can’t believe how perfect those muffins turned out! And those little pots-love! I hope you will share the muffin recipe.
As for the potatoes, I’m guessing his remark wasn’t the same as mine: “awwwww, they look like hearts!” lol
Congrats Veronica!! You and I think alike – my first thought is that they looked like hearts too! 😀
Those potatoes! I am dying laughing at them. Too too good.
YES YES YES!! Veronica!!! I love her and her blog. I loved all the submissions though…Potato is so versatile so it was exciting to see all the wonderful creations with it.
Veronica’s dish looks delicious! I love Williams Sonoma as well. I could so spend all day in that store.
I think my french fry recipe should’ve won!
Here’s a link to it! http://www.thepotatosoup.com/red-hot-french-fries/
Um, you had me at Tabasco! That sounds delicious! Your own seasoned fries – never thought of that one. 😀
Loved seeing all the potato entries! I’ll have to make Veronica’s dish soon!
Love your Williams-Sonoma purchases!
Have a great week!
Great entries, got to try some of them!
Love what you got at WS, great price for those little casseroles too!
Glad to hear Tony is feeling better:) Who doesn’t love a potato? Gosh, I could probably eat some form of one in every meal…
Lots of great potato dishes, this is great. I guess I will participate this week…here is my beef submission:

As for your little dishes I love doing baked eggs in mine. Just put an english muffin in the bottom, add some spinach, parmesan cheese and the break an egg over the top and bake it! simple and delicious. Of course you could throw bacon in it too 😉
That’s brilliant! I think I have everything for that too – I use 1 tablespoon of bacon bits – only 25 calories! 😀
Great picks at Williams-Sonoma…love all those items, especially those mini cast iron pots…awesome! Also, here’s my BSI for this week: Tacos de Barbacoa
http://cupcakemuffin.blogspot.com/2011/06/tacos-de-barbacoa.html
Thanks Sara – those tacos sound amazing. 😀
Congrats Veronica. The chorizo and runny egg, my mouth is watering thinking about it.
Hmm, you might see the crock pot roast pictured with my mashed potatoes next week. We’ll see what comes up.
Like the new look, it’s always nice to get a makeover. I just read about those flexible skewers in Cooks Illustrated, they didn’t give them very good marks so I am curious what you will think. Let me know because we grill a lot too.
Speaking of grilling I was laughing at the previous post of your grill with all the snow on it. It’s just not right =)
Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and grill in the snow – of course, you would never have to worry about that California girl! 😀
Great layout Biz – I’m really liking it!! Aww man, I would’ve been like a kid in a candy store at William Sonoma!
I want that muffin pan. I have so many other pans from WS’s gold touch line and they are amazing( and guaranteed for life). I just made brownies last night in the 8 x 8 pan.
I didn’t realize they were guaranteed for life – woot! 😀
so many great dishes! i’m kind of drooling at veronica’s dish 🙂 love your haul, especially those mini coquettes!
Congratulations, Veronica! You had me at the runny egg!
I love those mini pots! Perfect portion control + all your meals will be adorable!
Have a good Monday, Biz!
Ooo I like the new look! And thanks for the roundup. The WS red dish things are adorable. I’ll have to see if mine has them.
Yum, all of the potato dishes look so good!!! Even though I rarely cook, it’s fun to see all of this; I’m glad you’ve taken control of BSI, Biz. 🙂
Nice haul from WS! I wouldn’t have had the nerve to try the first batch of muffins w/o Pam, no matter what they said about the muffin tin. It’s always so nice to have shiny new bakeware. And I love your mini casseroles! Sweet!!!
At first I thought the potatoes looked like hearts….but then I read your commment about Tony and then I realized what they really looked like. 🙂
It’s so fun to see what everybody made with potatoes.
And I love the things you bought on your shopping trip.
I totally would have bought those little bakers! I’ve looked at those for ages but they’ve always been too much for me!
Congrats to VERONICA!!!!! I agree…that recipe looks fabulous! What’s not to love about potatoes and chirizo? The egg on top is killing me it looks so good!!
Great buys at WS. I have seen those cute little cast iron crocks..but they were full price and …. um….no thank you! Good deal for you!!
I’m going to play along this week too..I just have to post the recipe! I will send it to you via email.
Tony is looking great, Biz!
Great entries! Makes me want some potatoes. Glad you found some sweet stuff at WS…again- LOVE that store! Those potatoes are craziness
chorizo, potatoes, and runny eggs. does it get any better?! great recipe, Veronica! Those mini red dishes are so cute! My mom’s begging me to go out and get some ramekins for french onion soup before the weather warms up again haha.
Here’s my beef BSI: Beef Daube Provencal (ironically, from the same post as the mashed potatoes!)

Thanks for your beef entry Sarah! 😀
Veronica deserved to win, her recipe looks awesome! They all do though!
Nothing like phallic potatoes at 7 am to wake me up!
