I woke up the night before last at 3:30 to go to the bathroom – a new phenomemon for me – I could always sleep 10+ hours and not have to get up. I noticed that I didn’t set my alarm – what? I went to the bathroom, set my alarm and woke up at 6:30 when the alarm went off.
There were several red flags that yesterday wasn’t Monday. I didn’t put my lunch bag together, lay out my clothes, set the coffee maker, download my pictures. I can explain a bit though – you all know how busy I’ve been at work, and I am only working three days this week because I’ll be going to Dallas for my nieces wedding this weekend. I was thinking as I was falling asleep all the work I had to get done, and well, I woke up yesterday thinking I had to get to work and get er done.
I went so far as to DRIVE to the train station. As soon as I got to my first stop light, the light traffic was another giant red flag, but it wasn’t until I pulled into the parking lot of the train station, that I realized it was Sunday! Ha! I couldn’t stop laughing on my drive back home, where I immediately put my p.j.’s back on.

I have to give a shout out to Cabot Cheese! They are changing their program, and unless I ask them specifically for cheese for a project, this is my last official cheese loot haul for 2017. Thank you Cabot Cheese!

I realized that I never show our Fun Food Friday that my sister and I do every Friday when our work schedule allows it. Friday we went to the Walnut Room at Macy’s. It’s decorated to the hilt in Christmas decorations. As I usually do, I try to get a burger and that burger right there makes my Top 5 burger in Chicago suprisingly! The bun was buttered, the burger was cooked medium rare and the seasoned fries were delicious. I ate half and was so full. My sisters c0-worker came with us, so it was a nice relaxing lunch.
I went to Weight Watchers and got there about 15 minutes before the meeting because the line to weigh in is usually long. By the time the meeting started there were 70 members strong! I was like “is today January 1?!”
When I weighed in the receptionist said “congrats on your first 5 pounds!” Ha, I didn’t have the heart to tell her I was already down 20 by the end of February earlier this year.
The meeting topic was all about protein, and when I got home, I ate this delicious “diner” breakfast. It was 11 points but worth every one – hash browns with mushrooms, scrambled egg, steak, a roll with whipped butter and steak.
Since I had so much cheese on hand thanks to Cabot, Hannah suggested we have grilled cheese for dinner on Saturday night. And you can’t have grilled cheese without tomato soup! I used this Bolthouse Farm “milk” for my cream mixed with corn starch to thicken the soup.
I still need to put this into the WW recipe builder, but I think it will come in at 4 points. UPDATE: I just put this in the WW builder and its only TWO POINTS for 1/4 of the pot! Which left room to have that delicious grilled cheese panini on the side.

So I’ve talked about this Metabolic Reset I wanted to start, and after much more research, I decided not to do it. The program doesn’t seem to be set in place, every time I log on, my nutrition changes – the lastest (and “final”) calculation is that most days I am to have 160 grams of protein, 50 carbs, and 25 fat and if you do the math, that is only 1,065 calories. And you have to eat the specific amount of macros at each meal, eating four times a day, and you know I can’t do the 1/2 a chicken breast, brown rice and broccoli meal plan (one of the directors suggested putting sweet potatoes in a crock pot, top it with a sirloin steak, add just salt and pepper and cook it on low all day and “dinner is done.” Sirloin steak in a crock pot?!
And after my meeting on Saturday, I realized I just need to refocus on Weight Watchers. I know the program inside and out, I know what to do, and it really doesn’t matter what program I choose, I just can’t eat whatever I want, when I want. When I lost the 20 pounds at the beginning of the year, I ditched alcohol, and treated the weekends like any other day and not eat and drink whatever Friday to Sunday night.
I also need to stop rewarding myself with food!
I am going to take the Metabolic resets workout program though – I know that I need to add in strength with my cardio – while I easily get 10,000 steps a day on a weekday, I wouldn’t really call that a workout.
Happy Monday! Make it a great day!
Burger at Macy’s makes your top5, that is awesome!!!
I’m glad you decided to stick with WW. I know you find that other guy inspirational on Instagram, but WW really works for you. And you need to be so careful because of your diabetes. Why mess with something that you know works? Plus, we love your food porn photos!
I’ve been super busy with the move etc and haven’t commented lately but I love the new blog layout. And congrats to Hannah and Jacob <3
Shame on me, I got your travel plan dates messed up. I never use to be a fan of tomato soup but it is now something I enjoy. I don’t eat it as much as I could. You know my family they just aren’t soup people. I don’t know where I went wrong but to them soup is not a “meal”.
Tony couldn’t stand it either, and it was true love when I was sick and he would open up a can of Campbell’s for me.
Imagine all the soup we could share if we were neighbors!
