Yesterday when I set out on my walk, I thought “I think I might need a jacket!”  But once I got going, it was fine – fifteen minutes into the walk and it was up to 66 degrees – it was perfect!

I ate a handful of granola before my walk, then once at work put my breakfast together – I heated up one of my blueberry scones in the toaster oven under broil.  Then I put chopped green pepper and ham in the bottom of the egg maker my Mom gave me, topped it with egg whites and finished it off with a bit of Cabot extra sharp cheese.  And a dash of hot sauce.

Yesterday’s strength workout was for the back.  I love doing this T-bar row – I actually used a 50 pound barbell for that exercise! That’s kind of what I look like when I work out – ha!

The back exercises only took me 20 minutes, so I had time to run 2.5 miles.  Check it out – by 1:00 I had already hit my step goal for the day – bam!

So the other day I showed you my pizza burger – well, I made a really simple sauce that was enough for 3 dishes.

[amd-zlrecipe-recipe:64]

So I used one serving for the topping for my pizza burger.  For lunch yesterday, I used another serving for stuffed zucchini boats.  I just brought a whole zucchini to work, cut off the ends and microwaved it for 1.5 minutes, so it was still a bit crisp but tender.  I cut it in half, scooped out the seeds and added the Italian sausage sauce to both sides, topped with some fresh mozzarella and finished it off under the toaster oven broiler.   I served it with a side of strawberries and blueberries.  This was so good – it looks like a lot of cheese, but it was only 1.25 ounces.  Loves me some fresh mozzarella!

On my way home from work I had to get my eyebrows threaded.  It’s been a while and Tony and I have a wedding to go to on Saturday.  When I sat down the Indian woman said “that’s a lot of hair!”  Duh, that’s why I was there!  120 seconds of sheer pain later, I was done.  This morning my eye brows are just a tiny bit red, and by tomorrow they will be fine.  Aren’t you glad I shared a picture of myself with no makeup! Open-mouthed smile

Tony didn’t have much of an appetite for dinner last night, so whenever that happens, you know what my go to is . . . PIZZA!  I made a simple pizza for one:  1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon yeast, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup of water.  Just mix that together and roll out and you are ready to go.  I used the last two servings of the super simple sauce, then shaved asparagus and zucchini over the top, then topped with the remaining fresh mozzarella and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.  Baked it at 425 for 10 minutes on a pizza pan, then finished it off for five minutes on the lowest rack of the oven for 5, then a minute under the broiler.  I ended up eating half of this.

And later in the evening I got this from Fit Bit:

Wow, close to 7 miles walked yesterday – that’s a new record for me, well on a day when I didn’t work at the restaurant!

So yesterday I was back and forth with Skippy via email.  Check out her latest post.   Remember about a week ago how I wanted to help her out with her medication?  I wanted to do a Go Fund Me page, get social media involved, but she politely said that they would work it out, but she appreciated my offer.  Well, yesterday I finally convinced her that I really, really wanted to help her and she finally said yes!  But here’s the deal.  The vacation money that she set aside for their one and only vacation this year was spent on her medication.  My thought was that we could raise enough money to pay for the medication so they could still go on their trip which they were supposed to leave next week.  But there isn’t enough time – even if we raised the money, you don’t actually get the money for 5-7 days – and next week was the only week her husband and daughter could take off of work and school.  All she wanted to do was put her feet in the sand next to her family and look out into the ocean.  She’s been sick for so long, she knows as well as anyone that each day is precious.

So now I give you Tony’s post:

Something changed in my life. I’m not sure what I did but my body seems to have had enough.

I used to think I was one of the Lords favorites. My boyish good looks and my wonderful bedroom eyes, all of this in one package. I have a full head of silky smooth hair and all of my teeth.  Frankly it’s no wonder Biz jumped on the Tony train.

Some of you might know the lengthy list of illnesses and Titanium upgrades I have had in my body. To me, at first it seemed like repainting a van Gogh with barn paint. As the aches and pains continued I said “Slap some paint on that sucker”.

I currently face some kind of scary challenges, who knows how this will end.

Then last week, it happened again.

I was hit with something I didn’t know much about, Shingles.  I now know a bit more about shingles…they suck so badly. It for me was some of the worst pain I have ever known for five days, and nights. I couldn’t sleep, frankly it didn’t matter what I did, and the pain came in waves. Pain so great I would not wish it on the inventor of hot sauce! I am not a stranger to pain and this was really bad.

This is meant as a cautionary tale. My advice, stay single. It hurts way less.

At this time I need to acknowledge Skippy Mom (Janine).  I complain way more than I should, she is a tower of strength. I know for Biz and I she has our enduring respect.

We will be thinking of you on our trip to Mayo.

Tony
