I had to go back to work yesterday so I went to visit Tony before work. I told him to call me if he wanted to during the day and that I’d carry my cell phone with me so if I was at the copier for a while, he could get a hold of me. He said he didn’t want to use the phone with a roommate. It’s a long time to be alone so I worked through lunch and was able to leave at 4:00 p.m. š
I hit up the cafeteria on my way to work – supa cheap breakfast – scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon and fruit for only $2.50! I had my old camera with me – sadly I left the SD card in the computer, and for the life of me couldn’t find the usb cord to download the pictures. š Pretty sure everyone knows that eggs and bacon look like though!
Thanks google images! Um, mine didn’t look that pretty but it was tasty.
Work was suprisingly not as hectic as I thought it was going to be – the first couple hours were spent sorting through email, mail etc. For lunch I literally looked in my fridge and threw shit in a bag and hoped it would come out alright.
4 ounces rotisserie chicken breast (they were on sale for $2.99!), carrots, cucumber, 1 ounce cheese, 100 calorie pack of guacamole, apples, and grapes. This took a really long time to eat too! My only complaint was that the chicken breast was overcooked and almost too salty – I think I’ll make Tony some chicken noodle soup with the rest of the carcass for when he comes home. š
Ha – I google imaged something that would remotely look like my lunch – I think that looks like chicken wings though! š
It was dark and stormy all day – temps in the 50’s and I actually heard thunder in the afternoon! So crazy for December, even in Chicago.
I got to the hospital around 4:30 – he’d been up and around! Still super tired though – he cat napped pretty much the whole time I was there. I stayed until 9:00 – I was so hungry! I had to deposit a check at the bank and picked up a frozen pizza for dinner – so not like me.
I ended up eating half of a 12 inch pizza because I was so hungry. š I feel so out of sorts by not following eTools, Paleo or doing my work out schedule as I wanted. Part of me knows I shouldn’t beat myself so much because of everything that is going on, but the other part of me says if I really pushed it, I could do it all. š
Since I haven’t been bizzy in my kitchen, here are some people who have made some things that are definitely going on my list of things to make:
Due Dishes made a delicious looking citrus chicken dish that they turned into lemon parmesan chicken with penne – I agree with them that citrus can really wake up a dish.
Jennifer of Spoon with Me made a sweet potato soup with honey and chipotle – this one quickly made the list of soups to make. I am such a soup whore!
And Nicole, one of my favorite bloggers, made a pork tinga taco dish in the crock pot that looked amazing – you can never go wrong with Mexican!
Alright, off to shower, then to visit Tony and to work. Here is your crazy Christmas picture of the day – I am behind in those! I think the garter belts
I hope Tony is feeling better. I know it must be tough to have to leave him, but I am sure he understands and would not want you to keep missing things because of him. Happy Holidays!
You are the good wife! So glad to hear Tony is doing well. Hope life gets back to normal real soon for you.
I thrive on routine, you are doing so well with yours disrupted! Hopefully Tony’s levels will come up and he will be home!!! š
That pic is so wrong on so many levels!!! Love it!!! Take care, and hang in there!!
Hi Vat. Hang in there my efriend. Tony will be home, life will return to normal and you’ll get back to being Bizzy in the Kitchen soon. Take care.
Oh wow those kids are sure to look back with pride!
This has been a stressful week for you. I give you credit for being as conscientious as you are considering the circumstances. Once Tony gets home things will get back to normal. I love a routine, but sometimes life forces us to wing it. I think you’re doing a great job.
I hope you have a wonderful day and I hope Tony is home soon.
I am a girl who does not like to be out of her routine either so I completely understand that discombobulated feeling! Hope things get back in the swing for you soon.
OMG that pic is ridiculous!! Keep smiling, Biz, you are doing great!
You know – my eyes are now scarred for life from that photo…
When does Tony get to come home?
Not today. š His INR number which is the thickness of his blood for lack of a better explanation, is only at 1.4 today and they want it to be at least 2.0 before he can get discharged. They upped his medication so hopefully that will get it moving quicker!
Ok that is the most awkward photo you have shown. What????? I am so confused.
I love family photos…especially because those people probably totally thought they looked hot!
Having a loved one in the hospital is so hard on everyone involved. I hope Tony comes home soon.
Oh GOSH!!! That picture is too funny! Don’t worry if you’re feeling a little out of sorts. It happens to us all when we’ve stepped away from a comfortable schedule. Just try to do the little things you can to add normality (or sanity), then slide back into your usual regime. Good luck! And definitely try the pasta. š
Is she the grandmother or the wife? She looks old enough to be grandma, and if so, completely inappropriate [future therapy for the kids!] and if she is the wife, she is quite the cougar now, isn’t she?
Keep moving Tony! Pretty soon you’ll be home. Rest up. Lotsa’ hugs!
It is unsettling to get out of your routine, but you’ll be back there soon enough, and it looks like you’re making good food choices, so I wouldn’t worry too much.
Have a great day!
