When I was putting my breakfast and lunch together this morning, I just couldn’t imagine having eggs again, so I made a sandwich! Note to self: coffee and a sandwich do not go well together!
Did you have a parent or grand parent that would order a coffee at a fast food restaurant with their burger? My Grammy definitely did and I think Tony’s mom did the same thing at The Whopper (what she would call Burger King!)
- 1 low carb wrap
- 2 ounces browned deli turkey
- 1 ounce ham
- 1.2 ounce swiss cheese
- Tabasco mustard
Breakfast comes in at 315 calories, 15 fat, 33 protein, 24 carbs and 14 fiber.
So I test my blood sugar about 4-6 times per day. I had one vial that kept giving me an error message every time I put the test strip in – I wasted about 26 test strips and each one failed. I bought a new battery for my meter, but still got error messages – even with insurance these are about .50 cents a test strip!
I called the manufacturer and after a few tests on my meter, they determined that the test strips were not working, and they shipped me via FedEx 50 test strips – nice! Although I told Tony that I had a scare this morning – each box of strips comes with chip with a code on it that has to match with the test strips.
I didn’t pay attention to it, but after I put the new chip in, I went to check my blood sugar and I looked down and it said 950! I thought that was my blood sugar for a second, but realized that was just the number of the code for the strips! Whew!
Morning break is over – I have leftover Taco Soup for lunch – this weather has been so weird this summer – here it is July 10 and it was 62 degrees when I left the house!
My parents often order coffee when we are out for lunch or dinner.
I know what you mean about eggs. I alternate: one morning eggs, next morning loaded oatmeal with pecans or walnuts, soymilk and flaxseed meal. This week I couldn’t face eggs so I had whole wheat toast (1/2 slice) topped with natural peanut butter (no sugar added) and sliced banana sprinkled with flaxseed meal. It tasted so good and it was quite filling.
That mustard is hilarious! Where did you find that??
Dominick’s! I think Jewel carries it too. 😀
That mustard sounds incredible – I must find it!! Sorry about your blood sugar testing issues 🙁
I made a sandwich too!
Lite english muffin, honey mustard, spinach, 1/2 slice of provolone and 1 oz. of pastrami deli meat!
So good!
My maternal grandmother drinks coffee morning, noon, and night with everything. There’s always a pot on at her house, and if she goes somewhere she has her travel coffee mug. There have been a few times where I’ve thought “Ick! Coffee with ____?”
I had to giggle uncontrollably at the idea of you having a 950 blood sugar! You must have just been so confused! Although, I think at 950 you probably wouldn’t be able to have any mental clarity to figure it out!
wowza! i have to find some of that mustard! 🙂
My father-in-law has coffee with every meal. every meal. So that was a smile. I was challenged on South beach with breakfast. The eggs were too much. This is looking very nice!
