We were basically outside from the minute I came home from work until about 10:00! And I beat Hannah in baggo – first time ever!
I ended up going to the farmers market after work and luckily found a parking spot right away. It’s a small market – the most popular station was the cheese station, although the woman who worked the booth could not have been less friendly. This old woman walked up and pointed to swiss cheese and asked “what kind of cheese is this?” The lady responded “you’ll have to wait your turn!”
I got the most amazing cheese! Chile in adobo cheddar!
The flank steak turned out really flavorful. I marinated it in this combo since breakfast, but could easily be marinated overnight too:
- 1/3 cup olive il
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1/3 soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
I microwaved cauliflower and made a simple cheese sauce:

My mom is coming over today – we are meeting at the Goodwill store then hitting up a sushi place for lunch – I’ll post later today – the weather is gorgeous!!
I love farmer markets, I just wish we had better ones here in Vegas (too hot!). Your steak dish looks amazing, I want that adobo cheese, yum! That would be perfect in so many dishes. Cute toad! thanks for visiting my blog and I’m glad you got the transportation worked out 🙂

Ahhh that cheese sounds delightful!
Cheesy cauliflower sounds sooo good, especially with that new cheese from the farmer’s market!
Thank goodness for cheese right?? I mean, if you couldn’t have cheese on the South Beach diet, it would be a disaster!! That spicy, creamy cheese you purchased looks so strange! But I bet it tastes amazing.
Oh yum, last night’s dinner looks absolutely amazing.
Awww, what a cute toad. Can toads even be cute?
I can’t stand it when people are so unnecessarily rude like that. Is life really that bad that we have to yell at people over cheese?! *Sigh*
Aw he’s so cute!! Cheese looks tasty.
love farmer’s markets! they always have the best stuff!
and that cheese? very interesting with the colors! but i bet it would taste great on a burger!
Oh my goodness, that cheesy sounds GOOD! I hope you like it 🙂
I love farmers markets! My one isn’t great- mostly wine! Though they did have an oatmeal stall which was cool (whiskey oatmeal?!)
I love cheese- the chile sounds great. I was eyeing up a stilton with apricots in it today but have never had stilton (though with fruit in it, is bound to be delicious in my book!)
That is really and awesome looking meal! Good find on the cheese. You and I both have a great craving for a little heat, so I know how pleased you were to find this.
Wow! Your foods this week look SO GOOD I don’t think I’d even miss the pasta/rice/potatoes.
