Tony and I love this time of year – however, I do favor fall – but summer is a season we can both agree on! When I got home it became clear that the Weber would do our grilling – its in the backyard, and in the shade – the gas grill is on our front deck and around dinner time its VERY sunny!
We really like this bbq sauce – it made a ton when we tried to make ribs –
We have this giant tree in our backyard – someone once told us it was called a Cigar Tree – at times it has giant green beans hanging off it, in the fall, all the leaves fall overnight at the same time – come summer, it blossoms!
But its short-lived!
I have learned to grill from the grill master himself – my husband Tony! I’ve learned about direct and indirect heat. I’ve learned to stack the coals on one side of the grill, so that you have a hot and cold side – this way, you can sear your meat on the high heat, and remove to the cold side, lid on to complete the cooking process.
I used 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tsp. balsamic, cracked pepper, salt and fresh grated parm as my glaze for the zucchini:
Over the weekend I bought these tomatoes from the $1 rack:
I decided to grill them with my sole red pepper and am going to make a red pepper and tomato soup for my lunch this week:
Off to finish making my soup, then snuggle with my Tony! The new Jon & Kate + 8 is recording now, and I have to catch up on last nights New Food Network Star!
Hope everyone had a great Monday – see you in the a.m.
Looks like a great bbq night. Your view is lovely. I blew my budget at the grocery store last night- the trash bags threw me over. It seems like all that personal hygiene stuff and household cleaners kills my budget. Do you count those things in yours?
You have a beautiful beautiful yard! …made even more beautiful by the bbq, of course 😉
Oh pretty tree!! Unfortunately the only thing that falls off the trees here is cottonwood 🙁
Looks great Biz!
That was a great idea to grill the tomatoes and pepper for soup! Sounds yummy!
Awesome BBQ chicken, and I too love the charred parts!
that bbq chicken looks so good! i can’t wait to see the soup. I love charred tomatoes
i love grilling… well i cant grill- but i love watchign other people grill!!!
send some heat and sunshine our way- i wore gloves this morning!!!
Everything looks delicious. I love putting pepper and tomato on the grill. Some people (like my bf Nick) hate tomato when they are hot, but I love them that way.
I too favor fall. Why? Perfect temperature, beautiful colors, and college football time!
What a meal…I love the charred parts too.
what a lovely view from your backyard, and the chicken looks awesome!
