Just a quick lunch post – no pics because I spent my lunch hour getting the Whole Foods gift cards for the BSI winners. Congrats!
So a woman in front of me has only two packages, one says ribeye, the other says pork chops. Guess what her total was? $84.60! Tony and I really don’t think its worth the hype – but I love how their meat department and seafood departments look – my mind starts racing with all the possibilities!
So come on back tonight for roasted red pepper herbed goat cheese burgers (don’t worry Tony!) and garlic oven cheese fries!
I agree with you, I am amazed at some of the products people buy at Whole Foods that they could get at a regular grocery store much cheaper. Thanks a lot for hosting the BSI. I really enjoyed doing it and it’s a good way for me to get more involved in the blogging world! Zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables!
That is insane. Our grocery bills have definitely down just from cutting back slightly on meat. I would save a luxury like that price tag for holiday dinners only! YIKES!
Wow, that is expensive!
I hope it was at least one of those super, huge “family pack” sizes of meat… That’s crazy!!! $20 more to her total and she could fund the average of our entire grocery trip for the WEEK.
OMG…Not all meat is expensive it is just the store you are buying the meat at, the fufu stores like whole foods, zupans and wild oats are way to expensive on everything. But I do admit I enjoy going in to look around and see all of the cool stuff they do have.
…and that is why I eat like a vegetarian at home! Meat is so expensive. I save it for special occasions 🙂
Hey your gingerbread story cracked me up. I find the best ones are the prepackaged ones from the grocery store. You can add more candy!
I went to Whole Foods yesterday, and the lady in front of me spent like $120 on just produce, and it wasn’t that much. I don’t know if I could ever do that…. maybe if I had an unlimited budget. I agree with you though, their meat counter is so appealing!
Yikes. As much as I love Whole Foods, I rarely shop there, I like to browse. Whole Paycheck is right.
